Elder Scrolls Blades Wiki

This article is a stub. You can help Elder Scrolls Blades Wiki by expanding it.

This page will serve as a basic how to play guide for Elder Scrolls Blades. While there is very little information available at this time, we urge you to check back often, as new information is being added all the time! Feel free to edit this guide with any tips, tricks, and suggestions.

Basic gameplay

As is known from The Elder Scrolls gameplay starts with character creation. In the current version (may 2018) you get only one character per account. Thus the chosen race's attributes will last. Unless you spend 50 gems to change it via an NPC unlocked during standard gameplay (before level 12).

After choice your character can walk around via point-and-walk or (sideway tilted screen) with joysticks.

There will be enemies, who will engage you when they notice you (proximity). There's multiple types each with their own weaknesses and resistances.

Leveling up will give one skillpoint and a choice to increase Stamina or Magicka by 10.

The progress can be measured in Character level, and town level (10 as of now).

As stated walking is by point and click or (sideway tilted screen) with two joysticks.

In the game's settings, players can find many options to adjust the virtual joysticks and their visibility.

Following options are available:

  • Enable Virtual Joysticks
  • Enable Joystick Visibility
  • Enable Right Joystick
  • Enable Joystick in Portrait Mode
  • Enable Tap to Move
  • Invert Horizontal Axis
  • Invert Vertical Axis
  • Look Sensitivity (Stick) (Enable Clairvoyance)

Clicking urns or bone piles will break them, opening up the items inside (or sometimes it will be empty).

Combat starts easy with tap-and hold until the circle grows, turning from red into yellow. Releasing when the circle is at its largest will cause a critical hit. Passing this point allows you to hold your attack at ready, to release when desired (also known as Late hit). However, this decreases the potential damage dealt. Lates (delaying the attack by holding your weapon up) are rather useful against quadrupeds or wisps (both are enemies that attack by charging at you and are un-targetable when they are not attacking).

You have access to both Spells and Skills. Both will have their own pool of mana and stamina, respectively.

When unlocked, ruined buildings can be rebuilt into different new buildings. When constructing buildings, you gain prestige, which increases your town level.

The maximum town level is 10.

Tips and tricks

As this Gamepedia is growing, I suggest you have a look on Reddit too.

  • It is possible to evade mobs if you are far enough from them.
  • You can change gear or weapons, or use potions, during a battle by simply pressing the menu button and pressing the character button.
  • As it is possible for multiple wisps or quadruped category mobs to attack you at the same time, try to aggro them one by one. If that is not possible, keep attacking by using combos.
